HYDE PARK - The Dutchess County SPCA announces a new partnership with PetSmart to increase the opportunity for adoptable pets to find lifelong homes. The DCSPCA will have adoptable animals available inside the new PetSmart store located at 1894 South Road in Poughkeepsie.
A DCSPCA adoption counselor will be at the store scheduled hours during the week to help people interested in being matched with a pet.
PetSmart Charities is donating food for the adoptable animals at the store and cleaning supplies for their living spaces. In addition PetSmart Charities will donate $10.00 to the Dutchess County SPCA for every animal adopted from the store.
The Dutchess County SPCA, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, is the lead agency for animal rescue and adoption in Dutchess County. The DCSPCA is a no-kill shelter with a long 141-year history of concern, caring and providing shelter for unwanted, abused, abandoned and neglected animals. The Dutchess County SPCA rescues, shelters, and secures permanent homes for adoptable companion animals; advocates for the highest standards of animal care; and enforces animal cruelty laws throughout Dutchess County.
Established in 1994, PetSmart Charities, Inc. is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that creates and supports programs that save the lives of homeless pets, raise awareness of companion animal welfare issues and promote healthy relationships between people and pets.
