After staying even with the Pioneers through the first half, the Knights watched the game slip away in the second stanza when William Paterson erupted for an 18-0 run en route to a 64-54 win. The Mount moves to 5-4 on the year, while the Pioneers advance to 7-3.
56 seconds into the second half, Mount senior Rachel Perrone hit a jumper to put the Knights ahead by two, 33-31. However, a three pointer from senior Lindsey Callandar ignited an 18-0 run that gave the Pioneers a 16 point lead.
With under five minutes remaining, sophomore Amanda Smith hit one from downtown to bring the Knights to within seven, 57-50. The Pioneers sealed the win with back-to-back buckets by junior Floriana Borova and junior Dana Jeter in the final minutes.
Mount sophomore Lauren Romao led the the Knights with 13 points, while sophomore Rottisha Lewis and Smith added ten points each.
Borova had an impressive game, totaling 24 points. Jeter added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Pioneers.
