NEW PALTZ – The State University of New York at New Paltz Department of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation recently released its 2013-14 men’s basketball schedule. New Paltz has four opponents on its 2013-14 schedule that qualified for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament.

From Nov. 15-16, New Paltz visits Currier Gym at the University of Redlands for the Lee Fulmer Tip-Off Classic. On Nov. 15, the Hawks square off with Whittier College before taking on host Redlands on Nov. 16. Upon returning to campus, New Paltz entertains Vassar College in its home opener on Nov. 21, and the Hawks play Delaware Valley College on Nov. 23 in their final game in the Hawk Center in 2013.

Road contests against Mount Saint Mary College and Eastern Connecticut State University on Nov. 26 and Dec. 3, respectively, lead up to the start of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, which begins on Dec. 6 at SUNY Fredonia. The following afternoon, the Hawks take on Buffalo State, which serves as the program’s final tilt of the calendar year.

After New Paltz visits Hamilton College Jan. 4, seven of the Hawks’ next eight games take place at the Hawk Center, beginning on Jan. 7 against SUNY Cortland. New Paltz faces off with SUNY Oneonta at home on Jan. 11, and on Jan. 14, it travels to SUNY Oswego. From Jan. 17-18, the Hawks entertain SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Potsdam, respectively, before hosting Oswego on Jan. 21. The team’s home stand ends with games against SUNY Geneseo on Jan. 24 before facing The College at Brockport on Jan. 25.

From Jan. 31-Feb. 1, the Hawks contest Potsdam and Plattsburgh, respectively, on the road, and they visit Cortland on Feb. 4. New Paltz hosts Buffalo State (Feb. 7) and Fredonia (Feb. 8) in its final two home games of the regular season before closing out its schedule with three road tilts. After finding themselves pitted against Oneonta on Feb. 15, the Hawks travel to to take on Brockport (Feb. 21) and Geneseo (Feb. 22).

Should New Paltz finish the regular season as one of the top-six teams in the SUNYAC, it gains entry into the 2014 SUNYAC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament.
