NEWBURGH - Junior standout Joe Stabach led the Knights for the second straight contest, this time scoring 22 points as Mount Saint Mary College defeated Maritime College by a final score of 75-64. The Knights bump their record up to 9-6 on the season (6-3 Skyline), while the Privateers fall to 1-11 (0-7 Skyline).
The Knights hit four three-pointers in the opening four minutes of the contest during a game-opening 14-0 run. Mount Saint Mary pushed the lead to as many as 19 points in the early going before settling in for a 41-27 advantage at the half.
The Privateers got it to within eight points with a 6-0 run to start the second half, but they would get no closer than that. The Knights maintained a comfortable advantage for the remainder of the contest and claimed the 11-point victory.
Stabach hit on 6-of-10 from three and 7-of-11 from the field for a game-high 22 points. Junior Chris Pisciotta added 11 points, while junior Joe Henain pitched in with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Senior Ron Bethea led Maritime with 20 points. Freshman Kevin Blohm totaled 14 points, while sophomore Sean Corley contributed 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Privateers.
