Mount Saint Mary College never trailed on Wednesday evening on its way to a 61-44 victory over Vassar College. MSMC hits the end of the first semester with a record of 5-4, while the Brewers drop to 4-5.
Mount Saint Mary pushed an eight-point halftime lead to 16 with a 9-1 run to open the second half. The Brewers cut into the deficit with a 9-0 run of their own and when junior John Donnelly drained a three-pointer with 9:21 left.
The Knights put the game away with a decisive 11-0 run. Junior Chris Pisciotta kicked off the run with a three-pointer that was followed by back-to-back triples from junior Joe Stabach.
Pisciotta led the Knights with 16 points, connecting on both of his attempts from beyond the arc and collected a team-high five rebounds. Stabach also added 12 points.
Vassar’s Donnelly led all scorers with 19 points.
