Newburgh - Newburgh Free Academy freshman Brittany Friese has been named an "All-American" by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association for her performances in the fall 2009 season. Friese was the New York State Public High School Champion in the 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle events at the Girls’ State Championships. The times that Friese achieved in both events qualified her for automatic "All-American" honors. Only a freshman, Friese is ranked as one of the top 20 high school swimmers in the nation in both freestyle events.
