Robe strikes yet again in Mount’s double OT win

Shanice Robe scored the game-winner in The Mount’s victory over King’s College.
NEWBURGH - Following up on a three-goal performance on Wednesday, freshman Shanice Robe scored the game-winning in goal in double overtime to send Mount Saint Mary College to a 1-0 victory over King’s College on Sunday evening. The Knights improve to 2-2 overall on the young season, while the Monarchs drop to 1-2.
With the teams scoreless through 104 minutes of play, Robe sliced through a pair of defenders and fired a low shot that snuck inside the right post for the game-winner.

The goal was Robe’s fifth of the season and she continues to be the only Knight to score thus far in 2012.

Mount junior goalkeeper Jacquelyn Mancini made three saves to earn the shutout victory.  The Knights outshot the Monarchs by a margin of 11-3.

Up next for the Mount is a home date with Bard College. The Knights will host the Raptors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
