Fede is named Defensive Player of the Week in PFL

Terrence Fede has been named the Pioneer League’s Defensive Player of the Week.

POUGHKEEPSIE - Fifth-year senior defensive end Terrence Fede of the Marist football team was named Pioneer Football League (PFL) Defensive Player of the Week for his role in the Red Foxes37-0 shutout of league foe Valparaiso on Saturday.

Fede led the Red Foxes with eight tackles (two solo) in the contest. He recorded two sacks and forced a fumble as Marist recorded its first shutout in four years. The Red Foxes held the Crusaders to 169 yards of total offense and 12 first downs, and forced three turnovers.

This is the third time in Fede’s career that he has earned a PFL weekly award.

On the season, Fede leads Marist in both sacks (five) and tackles for loss (six-and-a-half). He is fourth on the team with 26 tackles, and also has two pass break-ups. He ranks third in program history with 22.5 career sacks.

Marist has now won three straight, and stands at 3-2 overall and 2-0 in PFL play.
