ROCHESTER – The United Volleyball Conference (UVC) has announced its 2014 All-Academic Team and the State University of New York at New Paltz men’s volleyball team has three players on the list, announced on Wednesday.
Senior Dylan Rabidoux (Rochester, N.Y./Spencerport), an accounting major, senior Victor Tuminelli (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West), a finance/marketing major, and sophomore J.R. O’Hara (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia), a geography major, have been selected for the 2013-14 academic year.
The UVC honored 57 student-athletes, and recipients of this honor must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82 (on a 100 point scale) during the entire 2013-14 academic year.
In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.
This marks the first year the UVC has recognized academic achievement and the standard has been set high, as the 57 student-athletes combined for a 3.63 GPA.
