Vassar tops Union but loses to St. Lawrence

The Vassar volleyball team split a pair of Liberty League matches over the weekend, defeating Union College but falling to St. Lawrence the next day.

Canton - After playing a pair of five-set matches on Friday night, the Vassar College women’s volleyball team repeated the same action on Saturday, splitting a pair of Liberty League five-setters against Union College and St. Lawrence. The Brewers defeated Union and fell to St. Lawrence.

In Saturday’s morning match, Vassar outlasted Union, 19-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-23, 15-8, and were edged by host St. Lawrence, 25-23, 25-22, 10-25, 22-25, 14-16.

After a weekend of Liberty League play, the Brewers, 10-8, 4-4, will step out of league play, next heading to Stevens Institute of Technology for a 7:00 p.m. match on Wednesday, October 5.
