NFA’s “Emma’s Baskets” Spreads Happiness

NEWBURGH - Newburgh Free Academy Liberal Arts and Applied Science House students, led by teachers Karen Stafford and Christopher Cotton, spread cheer in Newburgh recently during the "Emma’s Baskets" spring good-will drive. According to Stafford, "Emma’s Baskets" was named in honor or her late grandmother, Emma Cocchia, in remembrance of her good-will gestures to others.

NFA students, led by their teachers and administrators, collected items and donations from generous students and teachers which were then used to create baskets filled with treats and necessities for recipients. This year’s baskets went to the City of Newburgh Easter Egg Hunt at Downing Park.

Students involved in the program include: Lesli Juarez, Patsil Andrade, Emma Rivera, Esther Simon, Kaylee Erazo, Brionna Ramos, Cassie Dabbs, Christian Bennett, Malaysia Hill, Mikayla Montalvo, Briana Taylor, Vanessa Resto, Javier Salinas, and Aimee Cortes.
