WEST POINT – Brigadier Gen. Richard D. Clarke will assume command as the 74th Commandant of Cadets from Brig. Gen. Theodore D. Martin during a ceremony Friday, January 18th, at 10 a.m. in the Cullum Hall ballroom.
Martin will become the commanding general of the National Training Center and Fort Irwin, Fort Irwin, CA.
Clarke graduated from West Point in 1984. He has commanded at every level from company through brigade. Other assignments include Long Range Surveillance Detachment, 101st Airborne (Assault), Fort Campbell, KY; Ranger Reconnaissance Detachment, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, GA; 3d Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, GA; and 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, GA. He most recently served as the Deputy Commanding General (Operations), 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, NY.
