NEWBURGH - The GAMS Tech Magnet School National Elementary Honor Society teaches students more than just academics by aiming to help students develop into well-rounded individuals.
Over the past several months, students in the GAMS National Elementary Honor Society have participated in various activities to improve their school and community.
"We made cards for the veterans to show our appreciation for their services and delivered them to the hospital in Castle Point. We also do services at school such as the courtyard clean up with our science teacher. We raked leaves and added mulch to the vegetable garden. In addition, we also do charitable events such as a Thanksgiving food drive to help 24 GAMS families," explained Victoria Resto GAMS National Elementary Honor Society 5th grade secretary.
Students are currently collecting hats, mittens and gloves for the Warm Hands Warm Hearts drive for those in the Newburgh community.
