WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) recently announced his subcommittee assignments on both the House Agriculture Committee and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
"I requested theses subcommittee assignments to allow me to get to work on creating jobs and expanding our economy in the Hudson Valley," said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. "Whether it’s advocating for essential infrastructure like the Tappan Zee Bridge or ensuring that Congress passes a Farm Bill that protects family farms, I look forward to working with our local leaders and communities to fight for folks all over our district."
On the Agriculture Committee, Congressman Maloney will serve on the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management and Subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology and Foreign Agriculture. These subcommittees have jurisdiction over a number of different crops including fruits and vegetables, crop insurance, commodity exchanges, and biotechnology.
On the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congressman Maloney will serve on the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, Subcommittee on Aviation and Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment. These subcommittees have jurisdiction over highway and transit facilities, aviation facilities, and water infrastructure, as well as the Army Corps of Engineers.
Critical to many areas throughout the Hudson Valley that are prone to flooding will be his involvement with the Army Corps on flood and storm protection.
