Elant Benefits from Golf Open

Kevin Armistead, Armistead Mechanical, Inc., co-chair of Elant Golf Open; James Patterson, New York Times best-selling author; Mike Smith, Elant, Inc. vice president, co-chair of Elant Golf Open.

GOSHEN – The Third Annual Elant Golf Outing at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club in Poughkeepsie was another record-breaker for the not-for-profit Elant Foundation. Preliminary figures show that the Elant Foundation netted more than $49,000, a 16.7% increase over last year.

All proceeds for the July 15 event, chaired by Elant, Inc. Vice President Mike Smith and Elant Foundation board member Kevin Armistead, will benefit Elant’s sub-acute and rehabilitation programs, which provide comprehensive, in-patient care for those recovering from an acute illness or injury following a hospital stay. Over the past two years, Elant’s supporters have helped renovate a significant portion of Elant’s rehabilitation units, and allowed for the purchase of new therapy equipment.

“The generous contributions collected through our Golf Open help assure that we are always offering the very best care possible to our patients,” said Elant, Inc. Acting President Todd Whitney.

Following the Scramble-format Elant Golf Open, presented by Med-World Pharmacy, an Omnicare Company, players and guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, a dinner reception, and a book-signing by special guest James Patterson, America ’s No. 1 best-selling author. He was joined by Robert Reiss, author and host of The CEO Show, a nationally syndicated business radio show, as guest speakers during the dinner.

“We were very pleased with the turn-out and support in this truly challenging economy,” said Joseph Minuta, chairman of the Elant Foundation. “It says volumes about Elant and the value and dedication of its employees and volunteers.”
