NEWBURGH - On Saturday, May 31st the first ever Newburgh Urban Market opened on Liberty Street next to Washington’s Headquarters. There were 17 vendors who hailed from all over Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley region. For some it was their first time ever in Newburgh. Everyone felt the market did extremely well for the opening weekend. The response from community members and visitors alike was very positive. Many commented how a such a venue was needed to boost the area and hope to see many more events happen in the future. Vendors sold art prints, pottery, jewelry, hand crafted clothing, soaps, furniture, and food. There was even a bright yellow mini school bus selling cupcakes!
The Newburgh Urban Market hopes that it will become the launching pad for many great changes for the City of Newburgh. The market is still looking for more vendors. If interested please go to www.NewburghUrbanMarket.com and fill out the vendor registration form.
