POUGHKEEPSIE - It’s time to laugh, wiggle, and be amazed! The library district’s annual Community Day, to be held on Thursday, July 11th, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., will be packed with surprises for kids of all ages. Adriance Memorial Library hosts this fun-filled morning of activities, games, refreshments, and music in the library parking lot off Noxon Street.
New this year, an amazing illusionist, is sure to astound the crowds with his unusual visual tricks. A deejay will keeps things lively with fun music and the staff hosts the annual hula hoop contest. Also planned are face painting, balloon art, craft tables and a mural table with paints. To keep cool, the library staff provides free Sno-cones and cold water to drink.
Children will have a chance to meet two local authors in person, Renee Pearce and Kaylin Ruffino. In addition to these writers, many of our community helpers will be in attendance, including ambulance staff, police officers, and our fire fighters plan to bring along a fire truck! It’s a great chance for kids to talk to local heroes who are working together to keep the community safe.
Sure to be a kid-pleaser, Community Day is free and open to the public. Adriance Memorial Library is located at 93 Market Street in Poughkeepsie. Please note that the Noxon Street Parking Lot will be closed to patron parking from 9 to noon. For more information on Community Day, check www.poklib.org or call 845-485-3445 X 3320.
