NEWBURGH - St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) recently hosted a retirement dinner for Reverend Dr. Coleman Briggs at the Powelton Club. More than 60 elected officials, SLCH employees, family and friends joined the celebration.

"Reverend Dr. Coleman Briggs is a leader who has dedicated selfless service to his community hospital and congregation," said Allan E. Atzrott, SLCH President and CEO. "We are grateful for his many years of support and for the comfort he provides to our patients and their families when they need it most."

Throughout the evening, inspirational and funny stories were shared, and guests spoke about Reverend Dr. Briggs’ impact on the community. SLCH presented Reverend Dr. Briggs with an award as a token of appreciation. The hospital visiting clergy program was named in his honor and will be known as "The Reverend Dr. Coleman Briggs Hospital Visitation Program." Reverend Scott and McAllister will continue Reverend Brigg’s tradition of visiting SLCH’s patients every Wednesday.
