NFA puts on performances of acclaimed Broadway hit “Aida”

The cast and crew of Newburgh Free Academy’s recent presentation of the hit Broadway musical Aida.

NEWBURGH - Newburgh Free Academy recently presented a performance of the musical Aida from Friday, April 12th, through Sunday, April 14, 2013.

With music written by legendary performer Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, Aida is based on the book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls, and David Henry Hwang. NFA’s production was directed and choreographed by Mandy Clifford, with vocal direction by Karen Sheehy, technical assistance from Rick McCurdy, and conducted by Chris Zoutis.

"The students and faculty involved in the production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida spent many hours working on the sets, costumes, songs, dances, and scenes to make it a success. I am very proud of our show. As always, I am appreciative of the support we receive from the community, and look forward to our upcoming productions," explained Clifford.

Aida was presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, Inc.
