C.O.L.O.R.S. seeks to bring community groups together

Not-for-profit organization C.O.L.O.R.S. will be holding a fundraiser at Gloria’s Total Beauty Salon & Spa on December 8, 2012.

WARWICK - The C.O.L.O.R.S. (Christ Our Lord Overpowers Religious Separation) Foundation is a newly-formed not-for-profit organization that encourages love and unity. C.O.L.O.R.S. is not a religious organization nor does it intend to convert anyone but to challenge the thought process of every individual by utilizing symbolism. Christ Our Lord Overpowers Religious Separation is symbolic to his actions, not his name.

Delsie established the C.O.L.O.R.S. Foundation in 2011 to bring awareness to all communities by shattering religious separation and bridging unity among multiple religious & racial divisions through active collaboration on both community and charitable projects.

C.O.L.O.R.S. offers five charitable programs that promote love and unity by implementing activities such as, mentoring bullies, inmates and battered women, supporting the homeless, improving self-esteem, developing spiritual awareness, and incorporating positive thinking. She believes through the power of unconditional love, understanding and respect for one’s belief, we can remove the barriers of all divisions by bridging our similarities rather than discriminating against our differences.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Delsie found her passion for helping people at an early age. She strongly believes, regardless of your gender, race, culture, status, sexual orientation or religious belief, everyone is worthy of love. Delsie states, "It was through my own triumph over my struggle with self-acceptance that led me to start my non-for-profit organization. I wanted to give back to those who live a life in despair. My testimony serves as my conviction of spiritual fulfillment. I finally understood that happiness is within our own grasp, but to obtain it, requires inner faith, sacrifice and maintenance. And with great fortitude, I was ready to commit to my community and all other communities where I’m needed".

Delsie earned an Associates Degree in Accounting then continued her education and received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting/Finance and a Master Degree of Business Administration in Business Management from American InterContinental University (AIU).

The C.O.L.O.R.S. Foundation doesn’t have a permanent office as of yet, but provides its programs and activities at venues such as the YMCA, churches, shelters for battered women and rehabilitation centers, among others. Delsie also provides private consultations at the client’s home. She states, "some people conceal their pain and don’t seek help due to society’s cynical perception of those who don’t meet their expectations of perfection. In result, people develop insecurities and struggle with self-acceptance. I want to demonstrate acts of love without judgment and help them discover their own truth".

The C.O.L.O.R.S. Foundation will be conducting their initial Glimmer of Hope fundraiser event for "Be the Miracle Program". This fundraiser serves as a self–esteem enhancer for battered/rehabilitated women who will receive a make-over, manicure, dinner and a gift bag.

The Glimmer of Hope fundraiser will be held in Gloria’s Total Beauty Salon & Spa at the MeadowCrest Mall, located on 127 Rte 94 South, Suite 2, Warwick, NY, on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 4-7 p.m.
