BROOKLYN - Time Warner Cable employees were surprised to learn today that a woman was stranded in her apartment since Hurricane Sandy because her electric wheelchair was out of power. The employees were in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, deployed with their mobile station that allowed people without power to charge up their phones, use their WiFi, laptops and iPads for free.
The woman, Kacania Taylor wanted to go out and vote in today's election. Without power for her electric wheelchair, it seemed as if her vote wouldn't be counted.
That was until a couple of people informed the Time Warner Cable employees of the situation.
Time Warner Cable Rep's brought
their mobile station’s generator to the ground beneath Taylor's apartment, ran
an extension cord through the window, and charged her chair.
With power in her chair, Taylor can get around freely and even to the voting polls to vote for the candidate's of her choice.
