October 3rd, 2012 Nimrod Lodge hosts annual block party
NEWBURGH - On Saturday, September 22, 2012, the sun was out and the weather warm just in time for the annual block party sponsored by the Nimrod Lodge #82, AF & AM and Debro Chapter #10A, Order of the Eastern Star for the children of Liberty Street. Held from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. between Gidney Avenue and Clinton Street - the block where the Lodge Hall is located - lodge members gave out hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and school supplies in collaboration with City of Newburgh’s 21st Century CLC Program.
One of the highlights of the day was fun in the “Jumping Gym”, the big blow-up play house which allowed the children to soar high in the air and fall safely to the floor of the inflated gym.
The event was manned by WM Charls McRae, WM Perditha Jackson, coordinator PM Ammie Parker. Assisting and providing school supplies were PM Marion Parker, AM Valarie Larry, Sis Sophie Davis and Farrah Joseph, PM’s Marilyn Cooper and Charity McCottrell as well as WM Perditha Jackson. Also on hand at the event to provide additional assistance were Brothers Percy Crumpler, Brooks and PM Robert Burns. |
