Newburgh - On April 25th, over one thousand people will gather in Downing Park and begin a 5K walk through the City of Newburgh, to take a stand against poverty housing. A powerful outpouring of support from the community, evidenced by the names and logos of companies and service groups lining up on the back of this year’s t-shirt, indicates that Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh’s 11th Annual Walk for Housing will make great strides for local, hard-working families in need.
One name on the back of that shirt is Newburgh dentist Dr. Lane McEwan. McEwan and her staff will be donating their time to make money – and smiles – for Habitat’s event through participating in the Smiles for Life Foundation campaign. Now in their seventh year participating in the campaign, Dr. McEwan’s practice is ranked in the top 1% out of 1,000 Crown Council members in all of North America, in raising funds through the Smiles for Life program. From now until June 30th, participants can save 50% on a teeth whitening service and when they do, 100% of the cost is donated to help children’s charities – 50% through the Teammates for Kids Foundation and 50% will go to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh. Dr. Lane McEwan’s office is located at 5109 Route 9W in Newburgh. Call 561-3689 for an appointment.
"Our office chose Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh because we feel it helps not only children but also the community," says Melissa Clemente, a member of Dr. McEwan’s staff. "Habitat does great things for children and their families. It boosts the self-esteem of the children when they have a home to call their own."
You don’t have to be a patient of Dr. McEwan’s practice to participate in this campaign. To whiten your smile and brighten the life of a child in need, contact Dr. Lane McEwan and schedule an appointment.
