GOSHEN – Orange County Commissioner of Mental Health, Darcie M. Miller, LCSW-R, was elected Treasurer of the New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors, Inc. at their December meeting.
"I’m proud to congratulate Commissioner Miller on her election as treasurer of the New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors," said Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana. "Holding an officer position in her field’s state association is testament to Darcie’s experience, expertise, and commitment to serving the mental health and hygiene needs not just here at home, but on a statewide level as well."
County mental hygiene directors and commissioners oversee each county’s network of mental health, mental retardation, alcoholism and substance abuse services.
Miller added, "I’m honored to serve as treasurer and be a volunteer member of CLMHD’s executive leadership team. In these days of increasing needs and decreasing budgets, the benefits that come from collaborating and idea sharing on a state level are invaluable. I look forward to working with my fellow mental hygiene professionals to serve the needs of people not only here in Orange County, but across the state as well."
