The evening of Saturday, July 19th at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center in Duluth, GA, the Miss Black US Ambassador Scholarship Pageant premiered its first national Pageant. Miss Teen Indiana US Ambassador, Ciara Thompson was crowned Miss Black Teen US Ambassador 2014 and Miss Minnesota US Ambassador, Cearah Hamilton was crowned Miss Black US Ambassador 2014. Maurice Johnson, an actor on the popular TV show Devious Maids, and Crystal Neal, recording artist and fitness expert hosted the competition.
Ciara Thompson, Miss Black Teen US Ambassador 2014, will be a freshman attending Indiana University in the fall. She has been active in cheerleading, show choir, and biking. Ciara’s platform is centered around improving and changing the lives of others less fortunate or at a disadvantage in life in hopes of providing encouragement and support in their life journey.
Cearah Hamilton, Miss Black US Ambassador 2014, is a sophomore attending Century College. She has a special interest in boxing as she gains and develops both physical and mental toughness through her time in the ring. Cearah’s platform is entitled the Purity Movement. She has actively worked on spreading the message of purity of the mind, body, and soul through her organization and numerous speaking engagements.
The 2014 National Pageant, featured contestants from across the United States and District of Columbia that competed in five categories: Panel Interview, Fitness, Talent, Evening Gown, and On-stage question. The final pageant ended with Whitney Johnson, Miss Black Teen US Ambassador 2013 and Jazmine Scroggins, Miss Black US Ambassador 2013 crowning their successors. Miss Black Teen US Ambassador 2014 and Miss Black US Ambassador 2014 began their first day of the job on July 20th with their official contract signing and photoshoot with celebrity photographer Derek Blanks. The National titleholders were styled by celebrity stylist & make-up artist, DeMario Ward and hair was styled by Design Essentials.
The Final Results:
TEEN First Runner Up: Miss Teen Maryland, Taylor Williams, will assume the duties of Miss Black Teen US Ambassador 2014 if the titleholder for some reason Miss Black Teen US Ambassador cannot fulfill her duties.
MISS First Runner Up: First Runner Up: Miss Oklahoma US Ambassador, Kiana Billups, will assume the duties of Miss Black US Ambassador 2014 if the titleholder for some reason cannot fulfill her duties.
