September 5th, 2012 ‘Exploring the Line’ exhibition set to open
POUGHKEEPSIE - The Mid-Hudson Heritage Center proudly presents La Lavandería’s second exhibition Exploring the Line ; a collaborative photography exhibition that strives to break down societal boundaries between local communities of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Opening night will be on September 8th from 5-8 p.m. Featuring the work of Michael Sibilia, Jodi Dickhaut, Fel Santos and Sasha Bush, Exploring the Line investigates the everyday life through a visually striking mix of large-scale digital, Polaroid and film photographs. Hung on a laundry line, the color and black and white images of barbershops, block parties and city parks present a remarkable new take on relationships between neighbors.
The show builds on the success of last year’s inaugural La Lavandería exhibition, which drew more than 200 people, was moved to H-Art Gallery in Peekskill, and is the subject of the forthcoming catalogue, La Lavandería: A Cross Cultural Photographic Exploration.
The Mid-Hudson Heritage Center is located at 317 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. |
