New York, NY - John Waite, of Stony Point, was recently presented with the “Fund Representative of the Year” Award at the 2012 Fresh Air Fund Volunteer Leadership Conference. Once again this year, the organization highlighted the most outstanding volunteers for their dedicated support of the Volunteer Host Family Program. Waite was recognized for his terrific management work throughout the Mid-Hudson West area.
When Waite initially became a Chairperson, he set his sights on finding a replacement so he could take on the position of Fund Representative. Waite thinks of innovative ways to increase the host base in his area. He keeps his Chairpersons engaged in the process by creating action plans that garner results. He stands out as “Fund Representative of the Year” for supporting all the Fresh Air children that visit in order to give them a terrific summer experience.
The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.7 million inner-city New York City children since 1877. |
